Part 2 - Massimo Moreno - a blast from the past
Many years ago, before the then Stephanie Douglas went to college and set her sights on the young Eric Forrester, she and young Massimo Moreno were a very hot item. They were so close that Massimo's family saw Stephanie as their future daughter-in-law.
Stephanie lost interest in Massimo as her future hubby when she met Eric. But not before a certain passionate & intimate night, shared by Stephanie and Massimo on a boat, about a month or so before the night when a drunk Eric supposedly got Stephanie pregnant with Ridge.
Eric was very unpleasantly surprised when one day Massimo suddenly appeared in his office and announced that he is here to stay. Eric threw Massimo out of Forrester Creations, with a stern warning to stay away from his wife and family.
Massimo didn't pay any attention to Eric's warning because he came to L.A. with an agenda: getting Stephanie to leave Eric and marry him. (Good luck Massimo, I'm 100% behind you ;). Maybe you ARE the trigger that will get Eric to wake up and remember why he divorced Stephanie in the 1st place.) That's why Massimo kept popping in to visit Stephanie, forcing Eric to throw him out again, and again and again. During one of those encounters, Eric even went as far as punching Massimo.
No one was more surprised then Eric when Massimo boasted that he & Stephanie kept in touch, behind Eric's back (so what else is new ???), during all the decades since their 1st wedding, and that Stephanie updated him on all of Eric's women & misdeeds.
Massimo used every opportunity he got to bash Eric. It didn't matter if the "captive audience" was Stephanie, Eric or both - it was always the same bashing: "Throwing Eric's relationship with Beth, Brooke, Sheila and Lauren in his face. Taunting Eric about sitting in his pretty office all day drawing pretty clothes and leaving the running of his family to someone else - Stephanie. How Stephanie gave up part of her life for him, built him a business, a family, and he squandered it all on a trollop half his age. And claiming that he - Massimo is the man that Stephanie should have married."
Massimo's campaign to win Stephanie progressed nicely. Eric & Stephanie started arguing whether Eric should be jealous of Massimo's flirtations, with Stephanie taking Massimo's side and calling Eric "hypocrite". Stephanie herself was more then happy when Massimo paid Brooke's papa 5 million dollars to take Brooke to Paris and away from Ridge (Wow, these people treat millions of $$$ as mere cents). And last but not least - Eric has already caught his wife and Massimo kissing very passionately.
Mass's plan to win Stephanie by ridding her of Brooke, back fired, when Brooke was almost killed
A furious Eric rushed over to Mass's penthouse and accused him of trying to kill Brooke. Eric warned Mass again to stay away from his family including Brooke, and barely refrained from starting a fist fight with him.
When Ridge accidentally nicked his own throat while confronting Mass, and trashing his office, poor Eric was sure that now Stephanie will see Mass's true colors and throw him out of her life.
It didn't happen because Ridge's accident revealed to Stephanie that Ridge isn't Eric's son but Mass's from that night on the boat 4 decades ago. Stephanie vowed not to tell Eric & Ridge ever about Ridge's biological father, but shared the news with Mass who started dreaming about having a family with Stephanie and their son Ridge.
After Mass rudely interrupted Ridge's 40th birthday party at the cafe Russe in a futile attempt to tell him that he and not Eric is his father, Stephanie still refused to cut her ties with him per Ridge's pleading.
