Eric Forrester was determined to end the marriage to his 3rd wife Sheila. But it didn't take him long to discover that divorcing Sheila isn't going to be easier then divorcing his 1st wife Stephanie.
Sheila used the vasectomy that Eric had without telling her, to blackmail him into staying with her for another 30 days. (Hey Sheila, stealing a page from Stephanie's book?).
Eric used that period to coerce Sheila to go to Dr. James Warwick for therapy. Sheila agreed, hoping that it will make Eric amenable to reconciliation. But her hopes were crashed when she heard Eric admitting that he married her because he was rebounding from Brooke
Eric's trip to Rotterdam to attend Tohrne & Macy's concert without her was the death blow to Sheila's hopes for a reconciliation. Upon his return, Eric handed Sheila a divorce petition, moved out of the house and fired her from Forrester Creations.
Sheila has lost her marriage but still managed to keep Eric in the dark about her sordid past in Genoa City, by reminding Lauren Fenmore of Scott's dying wish, and by kidnapping James.
But Eric didn't stay clueless for long. Lauren has finally told him the whole truth about Sheila's past and James has escaped.
It was showdown time. Sheila summoned Eric, Stephanie, Lauren, James, Brooke and Ridge to the Forrester mansion, were she held them at gun point threatening to kill Stephanie(Just imagine how easier Eric and Brooke's life could have been ;) ). When Brooke and Ridge physically protected Stephanie, Sheila swallowed poison and appeared to die.
But the saga wasn't over yet because Sheila survived and was committed to a special prison-hospital for the criminally insane. Eric & Stephanie had to go there to get Sheila's signature on the final divorce papers. Sheila surprised them by willingly signing the papers and giving Eric his freedom.
What did Eric do with his freedom ??? That's right, he remarried Stephanie. Eric, Eric when will you learn ??? (IMO)
