Like any classic fairytale our story includes also a wicked witch - Queen Stephanie Forrester (Eric's ex) - who will stop at nothing in order to ruin the newly weds' happiness.
Although, when she left her house after Eric & Brooke's wedding, Stephanie had no intention whatsoever of suffering a stroke & amnesia and becoming a homeless person, but when she regained her memory, she did her damnedest to use it to lure Eric away from Brooke. But lets start from the beginning.
Eric's concern for Stephanie, first when she disappeared and later when she pretended to be amnesic was the cause for the 1st friction between the newly weds.
Stephanie's 1st attempt to breakup Eric & Brooke's marriage wasn't successful, but she didn't have to bother with a 2nd attempt. Ridge and Brooke herself did all the work for her. Brooke's marriage wows didn't stop her from having sex with Ridge in the Forrester laboratory where she was developing the BeLieF formula. And later running away with Ridge to the cabin in Big-Bear when Eric was away on a business trip.
