Many years have passed since Eric & Brooke Forrester's divorce was finalized. Most of the time, Eric was there for Brooke, and supported her decisions re Forrester Creations or her private life. Yes, there were times when Eric did his damnest to oppose Brooke, like when he tried to con her out of her rights to BeLieF, or when he came up with the Venice stunt to break up Brooke and Thorne. But they were not really connected.
Things started to change when Brooke with the newly born baby Hope moved into Eric's guest house.
Seeing Brooke one night, standing in the guesthouse's door gazing at the stars, stirred up in Eric feelings and emotions that were buried for too long.
Brooke's reluctance to go to Bridget's pre-med ceremony, showed Eric how big is the rift between their daughter and Brooke.
At the ceremony Eric Promised Brooke to pave the way for getting her and Bridget closer. A promise that made Brooke very happy.
Eric 1st step was to invite Bridget to a family dinner with him and Rick. He "forgot" to mention that Brooke was also invited.
Brooke was afraid that Bridget will walk out when she'll see Brooke. Still unaware of what transpired between their daughter and her mom, Eric assured Brooke that she is not alone in dealing with Bridget. Together they will get Bridget back into to family.
Bridget wasn't overjoyed to see Brooke waiting for her with Eric and Rick, but she stayed.
Things improved around the dinner table when the surprised Rick & Bridget saw their parents really connecting.
After dinner, Eric & Brooke discussed their children. Brooke, thanked Eric for being such a wonderful father, and Eric kissed her. It was NOT a thank you kiss.
On the next morning, both Eric & Brooke could not keep the kiss out of their minds. They tried to convince each other that the kiss meant nothing, although they both admitted to feeling something.
