Remember the condo that Eric Forrester had bought some months ago? Although he wasn’t sure whether there is a future for him and Brooke Logan, Eric used the month that Brooke was away thinking, to decorate and furnish it. And that’s where he took Brooke and little Eric when they were released from the hospital.
Eric was on cloud nine. Finally being able to start his life with Brooke and their baby was a dream come true for him. He was content just to sit and watch Brooke with little Eric.
Little Eric's christening brought on the first disagreement between Eric & Brooke over who is going to be the godfather: Ridge (Brooke's choice) or Storm Logan (Eric's choice).
Initially, Eric (who was about to go on a business trip and didn't want to argue) agreed to Ridge as the godfather. Later, during his trip Eric has changed his mind but it was too late. Brooke had already informed Ridge and the ceremony was going to take place only an hour after Eric returned.
Later, during the christening party, Stephanie summoned Eric to the mansion and told him that she will give him the divorce if he and Brooke will agree to become her friends. Stephanie didn't tell him that she already knew that the divorce was about to go through anyway.
Eric and Brooke agreed to Stephanie's terms and couple of days later the judge granted Eric his divorce.
When the newly and very happily divorced Eric came home to his new family, he was confronted by a very distraught Beth Logan, who made a desperate last minute attempt to get Eric to dump Brooke and marry her instead. Eric had to reject her plea claiming that his future is with Brooke and their baby.
The new divorcee Stephanie insisted on visiting her "new friends" in their condo and seeing the baby (she must be a masochist). Eric & Brooke tried to keep little Eric away from her but he started to cry, thus forcing his parents to show him to "auntie" Stephanie.
After leaving the condo, Stephanie's stoic facade crumbled and she wept over losing the only man she had ever loved. (If you can call it "love". "Obsession" is a more accurate definition.).
On Christmas eve Eric invited the Logans and the Forresters, including Stephanie to a Christmas party in the condo.
The next morning, Eric took Brooke and little Eric up to the cabin in Big-Bear planing to spend there the rest of the holidays.
In the cabin Eric has just started making love to Brooke on the carpet by the fireplace when they were interrupted first by Stephanie's unexpected arrival. And later by Ridge and Taylor Hayes who had to pick up their jaws from the floor after entering the cabin and seeing the blankets on the floor and the disheveled and robed Eric & Brooke in the middle of an argument with an all dressed up Stephanie.
By the time of Ridge & Taylor's arrival, they were snow bound and had to spend the night together in the cabin. Stephanie insisted on sharing a room with Ridge to keep him away from Taylor. She was still hoping against hope to get Eric back by reuniting Ridge and Brooke.
And then the big wedding day has arrived …
