Part 2 - The Lovers

Now that Eric Forrester and Brooke Logan were officially a couple, it had to be the most kept secret in the world. Eric has filed for a divorce, and the thing he dreaded the most was Stephanie knowing about him and Brooke.

That's why for their next date Eric & Brooke went all the way up to the cabin in Big-Bear armed with steaks and a bottle of wine. But food was the last thing on their minds, and before long they were in bed making love. Why no one thought about using protection is beyond me, but they didn't and that's how Eric Jr. was conceived.

Keeping their relationship a secret was a difficult task for both Eric and Brooke. Everyone who knew them was sure that there is a new man/woman in their lives. But almost no one made the connection. Thorne was the only one who gusssed the truth but decided to keep it to himself after getting a confirmation from Donna Logan.

Since the minute Eric asked for a divorce Stephanie has suspected that there is another woman, inspite of Eric's denials. When she overheard him telling Ridge that indeed there is another woman, she was determinded to find her and scare her off. Stephanie's first suspect was Beth Logan. But a confrontation with Brooke ruled her out.

Stephanie's endless attempts to get the truth out of Eric were fruitless and she stayed unaware of Brooke's involvment until Thorne spilled the beans many months later.

Ridge saw the divorce as a very big mistake and confronted Eric who was very open with him. Eric even told Ridge that he wasn't intimate with Stephanie for more than a year. He also admitted that there is a new woman in his life but denied her being the cause of the divorce.

If you think that his soon to be ex and his children were the only people Eric had to deal with, you are greatly mistaken. The night Eric & Brooke were in Big-Bear, Beth Logan returned to L.A.. After learning from Brooke that Eric is divorcing Stephanie, she set a meeting with him and offered to renew their romance. Eric had to refuse and I'm sure that you can imagine how heart-broken Beth was when she realized that Eric is not interested in her anymore, and that he is involved with a new woman.

Beth was also one of the people that Brooke had to wade off. She wanted to know all about the new "young" man in her daughters life. Brooke's evasive answers didn't seem to statisfy her.

Stephanie and Caroline also confronted Brooke, being sure that her mother is the cause of the divorce. Later there were also Ridge and Storm Logan, who just "had" to know the identity of the man that got her pregnant.

Brooke's confidant through all this was her sister Donna who knew about Eric, while Margo, Eric's confidant, didn't know about Brooke. All she knew was that Eric is in love with a younger woman.

Then one day Brooke discovered that she is pregnant. Brooke was on cloud nine until she came home and heard from Donna that Eric agreed to try to reconcile with Stephanie. Brooke was devastated and then and there left for Paris, leaving behind a very confused and frustrated Eric, who for the life of him couldn't understand why Brooke disappeared like that without even saying goodbye.
