Sancho Panza Ridge
When Stephanie Forrester's old flame - Massimo Marone decided to move to L.A., he had no idea about the impact that move will have on the Forrester family, and specially on Ridge Forrester's life.
Ridge didn't like the way Mass tried to insert himself between his parents by pretending to solve the "Brooke problem". Especially when that so called solution almost ended in Brooke's death.
After returning from Paris with Brooke, Ridge promised Eric, that he doesn't have to worry about his marriage to Stephanie, because, he - Ridge is going to take care of Mass once and for all.
Ridge barged into Mass's office, read him the riot act and started trashing the office using a samurai sword. Unfortunately to Ridge, the last casualty of the sword was his own throat.
Ridge was rushed to the hospital, and Mass had the unpleasant task of interrupting Stephanie & Eric's romantic dinner at cafe Russe, to inform them that their son no. 1 is critically injured.
At the hospital Eric & Stephanie were informed that Ridge lost a lot of blood and may suffer brain damage due to the blood loss.
Eric went to donate blood, but not before he got the chance to accuse Mass of trying to kill his son (Whose son ??? ;)), and promise him that now Stephanie will see his true colors and throw him out of her life. (Poor Eric, if only he knew that he is the one who is going to be thrown out.).
After seeing the unconscious Ridge hooked to life support machines, Eric feared that he have already lost his son (WOW, what a premonition !!!). Sitting by Ridge's bed, Eric cried, prayed to God and told his eldest son how much he loves him.
Eric's prayer was answered right away (Did you notice how in Lala land prayers are always answered instantly ???), Ridge regained consciousness and told his father that he loves him too.
Oh, Eric, if only you knew that while you were praying for your sons recovery, your dear wife was being told that due to incompatible blood types, Ridge isn't you son at all. You see Eric, when you slept with Stephanie over 4 decades ago, she was already pregnant with Mass's baby - Ridge.
Seeing the emotional Eric with his injured son got Stephanie to swear to herself that Eric must never find put the truth about Ridge's paternity. (Ya right, like Stephanie is going to keep it a secret and not dump Eric for Mass.).
After a failed attempt during Ridge's 40th birthday party, to reveal himself to Ridge as his real father, Mass promised Stephanie to stay away from Ridge and her family.
Eric was very proud to read a complimentary article in "Eye if Fashion" featuring Ridge. opened a bottle of bubbly and toasted to his son's success.
Poor Eric was unaware that Mass has already set in motion a chain of events that will tear up Eric's family and rob him of his wife (GOOD RIDDANCE!!!) and eldest son (not big loss either:)).
