Lauren - Who could have been the 4th Mrs Eric Forrester
Laurn Fenmore could have been the 4th Mrs. Eric Forrester, if not for her very stupid decision the terminate her affair with Eric Forrester and push him toward her "friend" Stephanie Forrester.
Eric has known Laurn since she was a kid. Later when she became a customer of Forrester Creations they became good friends. And their friendship became stronger when Laurn moved to L.A..
By the end of 1996 Eric was a very sad, lonely and frustrated man. Forrester Creations, his company, was being used as a pawn in the power games between Brooke and Ridge. He was living all alone and there was no special woman in his life.
Yes, he was friends with Stephanie but that was not enough. Eric knew that there is no chance to resurrect the romantic relationship between him and Brooke - the only woman he realy loved, and for whom he still had feelings. Bridget and Rick, his youngest kids were being raised by other men (Eric can blame only himself for that one).
And that's why he decided to pursue the only available woman in his immediate suroundings - Laurn.
Eric started the campaign to win Laurn by leaving an unsigned note on her desk in Forrester, telling her how much she was missed when she was away. When she found the note, Laurn was intrigued but didn't even for one second considered Eric to be her mysterious admirer.
When Laurn went as far as telling Eric and Stephanie about the note and wondered about the person who wrote it, Eric started to drop some hints to the clueless Laurn, like taking her out to dinner and asking her how she felt about the note.
But Laurn stayed clueless until the day, when in a middle of a conversation in his office, Eric suddenly started massaging her shoulders. That did the trick. Laurn began to put 2 & 2 together and asked Eric if he sent her the note. Eric admitted by kissing her passionately.
In Ridge & Taylor's wedding rehearsal Eric flirted with a very sexy dressed Laurn whenever he had the chance. While Stephanie who did notice that Laurn is very happy, didn't make the connection.
The next morning when Eric heard that Laurn was seen heading to the gym, he rushed down there, took off his clothes and entered the sauna wearing only a towel. There he found Laurn waiting for him in the same attire. They just started to hit it on when a female employee entered (Eric forgot to lock the door) and he had to leave.
Eric was determined to be intimate with Laurn, that's why before going to the church (for Ridge & Taylor's wedding) he sneaked into the guesthouse, offered Laurn a lift, and asked her to come with him to Hawaii for couple of days after the wedding reception. It didn't happen because the wedding was canceled by Taylor
When Eric refused to include Laurn's designs in his collection, he was afraid that he will be considered Persona Non Grata by her. But Laurn wasn't going to mix business with pleasure. Especially when the pleasure side involves a sexy and attractive man like Eric Forrester. So Laurn made a deal with Eric to keep their professional and private lives separate.
Eric was surprised to learn that Laurn was interested in him since the moment she had moved from G.C. to L.A.. He was more then ready to kick himself for not getting involved with her back then
When Laurn asked Eric whether she should tell Stephanie about their relationship, Eric was in favor. He even assured Laurn that Stephanie will understand, but left her the final decision. (Wake up Eric, Satanie will never understand or accept you having a relationship with any other woman but herself.)
Laurn went to Stephanie in order to tell her the news about herself & Eric, but kept quite (Laurn's 1st mistake) when Stephanie went on and on about how much she loves Eric and wants him back.
Surprised by Stephanie's feelings for Eric, Laurn went to Ridge (mistake no. 2who told her about his mother's dream to reconcile with his father.
Being Stephanie's best friend, stupid Laurn decided to end her relationship with Eric and push him toward Stephanie. That's why without giving any consideration to his feelings and wishs, Laurn coldly told Eric that she is no more interested in him but in Clarke Garrison.
Eric was devastated. He couldn't understand why suddenly Laurn decided to dump him for Clarke. But, it didn't take him long to figure out the truth, he went to Laurn and told her that she is the one he wants not Stephanie. But Laurn refused to listen and sent him to Stephanie (3rd mistake).
Laurn's feelings for Eric were too strong and when nothing seemed to happen between Stephanie & Eric, except one night of passion, Laurn decided to surprise Eric at Grant's costume party with a marriage proposal. That's why no one was more surprised then Laurn when in the middle of the said party, Eric & Stephanie announced their engagement.
Eric's engagemnet to Stephanie caught Laurn by surprise but she accepted it and even helped Stephanie with the preperations for the wedding. But when Eric's cuff-link turned in Laurn's bed all hell broke loose.
It all happened after Ridge confessed to shooting Grant. A devastated Eric got drunk in a bar and was taken by Laurn to the guest house to sleep it off. He spent the night alone in Laurn's bed where he lost a cuff-link. In the morning the maid found it and gave it to Stephanie with detailed info about where she found it.
Stephanie confronted Laurn who confessed about her past feelings for Eric. Laurn's explanations about how she backed off from him for Stepahnie's sake got the later mad. And laurn found herself being accused of betrial, and being kicked out from the guest house and banned from the Forrester building. Stephanie also didn't forget to give Laurn the "you are nothing but trash" treatment that she usualy reserves for Brooke
When she realized that with Stephanie as a friend who needs enemies, Laurn declared war. She got herself a condo where she established a love nest and started openly going after Eric.
Eric's reaction to Laurn persuing him was ambiguous. Although he stated over and over again that he is commited to marring Stephanie, he didn't refrain from passionatly kissing Laurn and later spending the night in her bed making love.
Being banned from the Forrester building by the Queen, didn't keep Laurn away from Eric's office. First she delivered herself into his office inside a big box. And when Stephanie allerted security and Megan (the secretary - by the way what happened to Trish?) to check all the boxes for Laurn, she sneaked in dressed as a cleaning man, with mustash and all.
And Stephanie? she was living in fools paradise, making wedding plans and tellimg herself and Eric that they are perfect for each other. Eric just smiled, kept thinking about Laurn and enjoying her little pranks.
But all the pranks didn't sway Eric from his plans to remarry Steph. And when kidnaping him in a limo to the Big-Bear cabin didn't produce the desired effect, Laurn threw in the towel and gave up the chase. If Eric inspite of everything is determined to marry Steph then, as far as she was concerned, he can have Steph and be misrable for the rest of his life. But not as far as Sally Spectra was concerned. So Sally took the video cassette with Eric & Laurn's night of passion on it and vowed to put it to good use.
