When Eric & Brooke landed in L.A., Brooke returned home and shocked Beth with the news of her engagment.
Back at Forrester, Stephanie was starting to go ballistic. Here they were just few hours before the Fall Showing and still no Eric. Not to mention the fact that he disappeared without a word, while he was supposed to work on their marrige.
So when Stepahnie discovered that Eric was back, she cornered him in his office, locked the door and demanded explanations.
Eric was saved by Margo who entered through the back door and summoned him to open the showing.
But after a very successful showing, during which Margo day-dreamed about Stephanie shooting Eric, Stephanie cornered Eric again.
This time he had to level with her, and informed her that it's over between them and that he is going ahead with the divorce. Eric did admit to Stephanie that he was with a woman but refused to disclose her identity.
Eric was pleasently surprised when Stephanie decided to cooperate and signed the divorce papers. She didn't change her mind even after Eric has dismissed the proceedings in California and refiled in Nevada so he can remarry immediately after getting the divorce. (In California you must wait 6 months before being able to remarry.)
Stephanie with Ridge's help did figure out Eric's intentions. She even guessed that the woman is pregnant. But it didn't change her mind.
Then Ridge has learned that Brooke is pregnant after Storm accused him of being the father.
He went to Eric complaining about the jerk who got Brooke pregnant, promised to marry her and is not doing anything about it. Eric had to put on his poker face and speculate with Ridge about the jerk's (himself) intentions.
Poker face or no poker face, as hard as Eric & Brooke tried to keep their secret intact, it had to eventually come out. And when it did, all hell broke loose ...
